Home / Siphonic Flushing System
Siphonic closets are designed with an elongated, narrow “S”-shaped trapway that connects the bowl inlet to the drain outlet below. This design provides a wider water surface and a deeper seal than conventional wash-down models.
The specialized trapway structure generates a siphon effect that boosts flushing efficiency. At Torus Sanitaryware, we craft our siphonic closets from premium-quality materials, ensuring powerful yet quiet performance backed by advanced technology.

Step - 1
The flush valve opens (flap lifted or piston moves), releasing water from cistern into the bowl. Water rushes from rim jets and from the siphon jet.
Step - 2
The bowl water level rises because of the inflow. The siphon jet helps push water into the trapway. Because of the shape of the trapway, once the water passes the highest point (the apex) of the trap, gravity helps pull water down on the far side, creating a vacuum (negative pressure) behind it. Air is pushed out, and so the flow continues even after the initial force from the cistern lessens — this is the siphon effect.
